Mia was struggling mightily at the city shelter, showing signs of fear and kennel distress. She was snapping and snarling at the kennel handlers, who had trouble getting a leash on her. She was almost euthanized due to her kennel distress and displayed aggression.
We took her in in August 2026. She snapped at us the first day, but we could see glimmers of the friendly, sweet dog that she was. We slowly integrated her into our facility, staff and with the other dogs. Now, she is the absolute sweetest dog, once she trusts that you're not going to hurt her. She is the first to greet you with happy tippy-taps, hugs and kisses. She is house-trained, knows basic commands, and loves nothing more than to lay her head on your shoulder as you drive her to the dog park. She deserves a chance at a loving home and will repay that chance with love and loyalty!
